Football stoppage time, extra time and penalties

Stoppage time is added to a half; extra time is a separate competition procedure; a penalty shoot-out is taken after the match has ended. A betting market can have its own settlement terms, so the final score alone does not tell you which period a selection covered.

Added time belongs to the half

IFAB Law 7 describes two equal halves of 45 minutes, with limited reductions permitted by agreement and competition rules. It also describes allowance for playing time lost through matters such as substitutions, injuries and goal celebrations.

The indicated additional time is a minimum: the referee may increase it. This is why a listed kickoff time and an approximate finish time cannot establish exactly when a particular market settled. Added time is not the same concept as the separate extra-time procedure used by some competitions.

Extra time and a shoot-out answer a competition question

Law 10 distinguishes a drawn match from competition procedures used when a winning team is required. Those procedures can include extra time and penalties, depending on the competition rules.

IFAB states that penalties in a shoot-out are taken after the match has ended. Do not silently add a shoot-out tally to a match score when interpreting a goals market. Read what the market actually covers.

The market name is not the complete contract

A match winner, a team to qualify and a result at the end of a specified period can refer to different questions. Check the named period, what counts toward it, and the rules for a postponed or abandoned event. This article does not assert that every operator uses the same settlement convention.

The UK Gambling Commission explains that gambling businesses should provide game rules and descriptions and make terms clear. That guidance concerns its jurisdiction; it is useful reading, not a claim about which laws apply to a particular US reader or about Winner364 being licensed by that regulator.

Connect a result to the original selection

To interpret an archive row, retain the original market wording, the period and the outcome label together. A score without that context is insufficient to audit the selection. Winner364 labels are a public record, not an independent verification service.

If a row remains unconfirmed, do not upgrade it to won because the displayed score looks favorable. Read the methodology and the operator terms rather than deriving a performance percentage from selected wins.

Knowing the rules does not remove gambling risk

Understanding playing time can prevent a misunderstanding, but it cannot make a result predictable or remove the possibility of loss. You can decide not to place a bet.
